“I present to you my latest impromptu fritter fabrication… (🥁 drumroll):
Wakanda Forever Black Rice Fritters! …🙌🏾🙌🏾
YES b/c they’re black and full of flavor… AND b/c I whipped them up right after we got back from seeing the movie!
Made from lefter over black rice (a hybrid of long grain black Indica and Venus grains) that i'd simmered up as a side dish the night before). For the fritters I folded in diced green pepper 🫑 & onion 🧅 , egg 🥚 , rice 🌾 flour , salt 🧂 pepper and other seasonings to taste. Then spooned out dollops to fry up for a few min on each side in a cast-iron skillet with plenty of hot peanut oil.
Regardless of whatever they look like to you, let me tell you these fritters weresupremely scrumptious! …Crispy and crunchy around the edges, softer and semi chewy towards the middle … The perfect accompaniments dipped into a deliciously saucy 🍅 (and rice-less!) “jambalaya” dish my play cousin Lori made the day before …😋 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
