FOR NEW ENGLAND CLAM CHOWDER DAY: Did you know that once upon a time New York and NJ were both considered to be part of “New England” from 1688 until into the 20th century after the New York Metropolitan area had clearly come into it’s own expansive regional identity (inclusive of parts of NJ, Connecticut etc) . There are some who argue that New York nor NJ were never really parts of original New England anyway b/c they are states with Dutch vs. English roots. I gotta wonder what all this means as it relates to New England vs. “Manhattan” style clam chowders 😆…Do you know the difference and if so WHICH STYLE IS YOUR FAVE? Let me know via the COMMENTS section below thanks!
