July 8th Is Stone House Day !

Happy Stone House Day❣️ to my favorite stone house, The Old Stone House of Brooklyn (OSH Bklyn)— cosmically just a stone’s throw away from my actual house(hold) —and it’s rightfully considered to be the heart of our Park Slope community. Check out the amazing programs and events that take place here weekly (sometimes daily!) including the wonderful Park Slope Farmer’s Market (via Down to Earth Markets) on Sundays 9am-2pm…

As a longtime active advisor for and co-creator of the Food & Public History Program, I collaborate with the OSH Leadership Team and Scholar in Residence, Dylan Yeats, in varied ways including continued investigation into the legacy of slavery at the Old Stone House, “what happened to those enslaved here and their descendants, and how to better commemorate this important and inclusive history going forward@. If you are interested in helping with this endeavor, please reach out. [via comments below and/or via donation to OSH in support of this important work].

To keep doing all of he amazing work done there, OSH relies on contributions from the many physical and virtual communities it’s so strongly connected to. Contributions that help to pay for a range of expenses including but not limited to: underwriting a rang of historical , environmental and arts programming including performances in the park; paying for all of the amazing and educational plants in the various gardens as well as for the environmental and public educators and additional park staff as needed .  Your gifts are the most important part of OSH’s funding which help keep JJ Byrne Playground and Washington Park strong. DONATE Today — it’s Stone House Day! https://theoldstonehouse.org/donate/
