CHEERS to the End of #DryJanuary! … Happy Hump Day (& 1st Day of Black History Month! ♥️🖤💚)
Cheers to the end of #DryJanuary!
No matter anyway, seeing as I opted in for #GINuary instead — which inspired me to make the delish drink you see here: A creatively, naturally colored, cocktail I came up with using DU NORD's Prominence Gin — as the ‘prominent' ingredient . Which they describe on the bottle as being "Deeply Juniper...” and I also completely agree on the “...With A Botanical Soul" bit, and might even add the word "beautiful" before Botanical, just sayin… Btw, DU NORD just so happens to be a “Black-owned brand with a diverse team" with a mission to …”change the rooms, open the doors and help people who have not traditionally held power see how we can make it in ______ [insert noun — or go see the varied options on their website]". Nice segue from GINuary to Black History Month (BHM) I’d say!…
What else is in it you ask? Well while I cain't tell ya'll ALL my secrets ...I WILL say that beyond the gin, there are several apple elements (e.g., fresh Fuji cider and "splashes" of Never Sink's amazing Apple Brandy — all harmonized by a not so "simple syrup" i concocted using a spicy ginger-spread). And then there's that freeze-dried Fuji Apple floater that reconstitutes itself into a bite-sized semi-sweet snack in the remaining sips. Yum...
What’s with the all the apple items you ask? Well... in addition to being GINUary, January also gave us two apple themed days right out the gate: Apple Gifting day takes place on January 1st each year plus there's an apple tree day on Jan 6th. And since the apple has long been a symbol of health, it was nice to add that energetic intention all the deliciousness, especially during what's traditionally cold & flu season......
Oh and yes that's ALL NATURAL color, thanks to the mojo of Wild Hibiscus Flower Co! When you combine the butterfly pea tea with an acid (think citrus) you can achieve various shades of purple. This one came out just as intended — a liquid ode to the same lovely color of the bottle label ...
