Me with my immediate plus extended family of aunties, uncles, cousins and such celebrating Kwanzaa together a few moons ago in Southern California, the birthplace (1966) of this uniquely American holiday…

The current FOOD & WINE Magazine (The Holiday Double Issue: Dec2024 -Jan2025) has a special section called “Holidays Around The World… which serves up eleven (11) deliciously diverse recipes to help celebrate the holiday season inclusively (for those who care! — about the inclusive part that is 😆)…One or more recipes are linked to a total of eight (8) showcased historic and culturally-rooted holidays featured in the chronological order in which they occur. It’s the 10th of a total 11 recipes in this ‘global ‘ holiday section…

The online version of the article has a different title & subtitle which: “How I Use Kwanzaa's Seven Principles to Transform My Holiday Cooking: This African American and Pan African holiday is a celebration of camaraderie and creativity in the kitchen” By Tonya Hopkins, Published on December 9, 2024.
